ok ive got a b18a1 with a b18b1 head, ive done a full rebuild and the gasket kit I bought was for a b18a1. Got it started today and immediately started blowin thick white smoke out the tail pipe. Checked, and yup milk for oil.... My question is... will the b18a1 head gasket on the b1 head cause this?!?!

 

headgasket is the same for A1 and B1 ....did you get the wrong bore size???

neither are cracked the head is practicly brand new and we did a full visual inspection of the block when it was stripped down. everything looked good. honestly the only thing i can think of is i need to use the later model head gasket to match the head. similar yes but i can see differences between the two. i will double check to make sure the bore matches between the head and block. thanks rick.
