i thought i couldnt get a cel unless the car is running...because i thought if you had the car in the "on" position the cel was always illuminated...i didnt check any fuses...what would i look for in the fuse box?
the ecu and injection fuse might be blown, is just a guess, and i was asking if it gives you any CEL the lil while the car was on. what does the car sounds like when you try to turn it on?

there was no cel when the car was running....car sounds totally normal when tryin to start it up...it sounds like im out of gas or the battery is dead but i checked the battery and it says its good...how would i check the fuses..thanks for the help
is the starter turning the motor over?
and it will not show CEL's with the key in the on position unless you have it jumped.
There is a green box above the ECU, one set of them have 3 wires, and the other have 2.
take a paperclip and put them into the 2 wire connector and jump the 2 wires then count the CEL

the started will turn over it just wont start...i will search for a paper clip to try to get the cel its under the kick panel on the passenger side right? is it possible that the engine is just fludded from trying to start the car so much and tappin the gas pedal?
do a search on hot to read codes on your car, and don't step on the gas trying to turn it on, they don't need that at all, it just make things worst. go look for the codes and come back
i already know how to read the codes...just makin sure it where the ecu was....poison already explained how to read them
ok...i jumped the ecu...and turned the ignitioin "on"...the cel light came on but didnt flash...it just stayed illuminated...did i jump it correctly because without the ecu jumped doesnt the light always come on and stay on till you start the car?
ok, you are not throwing any codes. the CEL staying lit up means there is no codes stored when the ECU service connector is jumped.
now, on to more troubleshooting.........the starter does turn the motor over correct?

lets say since the sensor was plugged in wrong at first then i fixed it...if the sensor was fried wouldnt the car still start and just throw a cel?
ok, next thing you need to check is for spark and fuel.
take out the spark plug wire and put a screw driver in it, then put that next to the radiator support (about 2 mm gap) and have someone crank it over.
you should see a spark out of that. check all 4 cylindars.
you should also smell fuel from the combustion chambers...
let me know what's up then...

reason is the ECU does not know what air/fuel ratios to put in the motor and doesn't know the engine load, etc.
