Please help inside!! What in the world is this thing??!!?
Ok. I have a breather filter on my valve cover, instead of the tube from the AEM Intake nipple.
I heard its illegal and not good for the car, so I wanted to take off the breather filter.
Anyways, I didn't do the Skunk2 IM install. A friend of mine did it, and it seems he connected the Intake nipple hose to some weird device that I don't know of.
What is that thing? Will something bad happen if I take the hose off and put it on the Breather?
What is that hose connected to and what purpose does it serve?
How am I suppose to take the Breather filter off and replace it with the Intake nipple hose when its connected to that weird thing?
Someone help me out. Thanks.

Umm.... ok.
Then what was that originally connected to? and where is it now?
If I connect the Intake nipple hose to the Breather, like its suppose to be... then that weird device thing will have an empty hole in it, since the hose isn't connected to it anymore...
So then what is suppose to connect to that? Or do I just leave it open like that? Someone help me out.

not to be an ***, but how about you ask your friend who installed it, what it was orignially connected to. just a thought.

He lives an hour away from me, and is always at work. I emailed him this thread, so if he does come online, he'll be responding here...
But anyone else?

ok.
i kno on some intakes, there are two outlets/nipples, whatever you like to call them. i kno on my intake, i just have a outlet/inlet for the breather hose, but i have a 92 accord. the breather tube might connect to where that connector is right now, and that connector might hook up somewhere else?

it needs to go to a vacuum source. it is origionally connected to a nippple just off to the side of the throttle body on the stock Intake manifold. you can put a t-fitting on the vaccum hose that goes to the pcv valve and connect that hose to it. The other end of the hose shouild be going from that Evap solenoid to the Charcoal canister on the firwall. HTH

Wait... so can I just take that hose off and put it on the breather? And leave that opening, open?
Will it mess anything up? What is SUPPOSE to be hooked up to that device, if not the intake nipple hose??

wuddup jun! dang my bad for not getting back to you so fast, but that thing is your ambient iat( intake air tempurature sensor), theres 2 on obd2's for your year gsr. the reason why its hooked up there is because that skunk2 im doesnt have an extra nipple for it, i can see why, one reads ambient air temp and the other reads manifold air temp, i hooked it up that ways to prevent you from getting a trouble code. obviously it will work perfect for obd1 gsr's. if you want to remove the breather we have to put another nipple on the intake arm (i dont know if that is legal either). we just have to hook up and play with it. im pretty sure we can figure something out.

sorry that is not the iat. the iat is already on his intake manifold on the right side in the first pic. I already answered his question. One hose goes to the evap canister and the other goes to vacuum source.

IAT is on the manny..... That is a ITR AEM? ITR intakes dont have the IATs on the inlet pipe, they are wired for where it looks like you have it, on a primary on the manny.
99-00 as far as i know is the ony car with the IAT on the inlet pipe.... the rest should all be on the manny. Just t off another vaccum and you will be success

Ok.
So I'll get me a hose and connect the intake arm to the Breather, and I'll get a T-fitting on the Vacuum hose that goes to the PCV Valve.
That should fix everything, correct?

Ok. After looking into this problem, I found out that I needed to connect that hose into a vacuum source. That hose was originally plugged into the STOCK Intake Manifold, but the Skunk2 IM didn't have it. I needed a T-Fitting on the Vacuum hoses that connected to the PCV Hose and the hose that went on top of the Skunk2 Intake Manifold.
I went to Kragen Auto Parts, and bought me 3 feet of hoses, Hose Clamps, and the T-Fitting. Spent $20 bucks on all that.
Came back home and popped my hood and checked everything out.
WHHHHAAAAT?! The PCV Tube (Red Thing), was disconnected the WHOLE time!! Even during my Dyno tuning. It was just dangling... (If the PCV Hoses are disconnected, will it affect any performance?)
Anyways, I unplugged all the hoses, uncluding the one that was on the Evap Purge Valve.
First, I removed the Breather Filter and connected a hose to the intake arm to the breather.
Then I got the T-Fitting and connected the Evap hose, PCV Hose, and the vacuum hose together. Clamped each hose off tightly.
Then connected the Evap hose to the Evap Purge Valve (That weird device we were talking about).
I reset the ECU then let her run for a good 5-10 minutes.
It runs great now. Thanks for everone's help!
