Anyone know why it's not comming off? I NEED the tranny to come off, I have got everything else i need off from it but the tranny is stuck in the car and i can't figure out why?
Just to make sure, if it is an automatic, my 97 had 4 bolts on top, and 5 on the bottom. The first time I pulled it, it was tight, but it sure does sound like there is a bolt somewhere hiding. I assume it isn't binding on the body somewhere?
Good luck...

yeah the starter motor is in the front of the tranny and the front pry's apart. I removed it. It feels alot like there is something major holding in the rear of the tranny (near the firewall side) but i have checked and looked and i can't find anything! it's so annoying and I have been trying at it for days. Do I need to do anything with the flywheel? Is there some weird bolt I can't find or a special tool i need to pull it off? Is there a technique to it or do I just pry at it?
Removing a transmission shouldn't be that difficult.
Usually there are more than 1 mount. So, make sure you've removed all connected mounts.
The starter has to be removed. (it seems as you've already done that)
Remove all bell housing bolts. I don't know how many there are on the Accord transmission.
Remove any electrical harnesses that are connected to the transmission.
Disconnected shift linkage.
Remove axles.
Don't forget to drain it first....ha ha.
That should be all.

The fact that you said "Removing a transmission shouldn't be that difficult" scares me. I thought the same thing. When I pry, I use a huge metal pole i found and slide it in the front between the motor mount and the tranny housing on the bottom side. It comes apart fairly easily but only in the front and it will only open up to a certain point, then it stops comming apart, and as soon as I stop prying(stop pushing on the pole)....the tranny springs back onto the motor. I really want to say that there is something holding it on (mount, bolt, something caught) but it looks totally clear. I got the axles out and the intermediate shaft. It seems like if I could pry from the back somewhere it might come apart but i have tried the best I can (impossible to get a pry bar anywhere back there) but it won't come off, won't even slightly seperate i the lower/upper 3/4 of the tranny. Any ideas? I'm giving it another day or two and then I am gonna just pull the motor and transmission as one peice and try to seperate afterwards.
Just give the whole area a look over. I'm sure you'll find whatever it is that's keeping you from removing it.
Do you have an extra jack that you can put under the transmission to take some stress off of it? That might help..

That sounds eerily identical to a post I made when I first tried to remove a tranny
. Turns out I had missed the opposing bolt on the firewall side of the tranny. Make sure you get that bolt - it faces the passenger side of the car, not the driver side like the rest of the bolts. Also, don't forget the bolts by the flywheel dust cover.
