Default Please help with CEL

Ok the story goes, A few months back I bought a b20v from my buddy out of his 99 ek hatch. I got the long block and the ecu strapped with the hondata. I put the swap in a delsol I had sitting around and everything was great (NO CEL’s). I just bought my buddies hatch and put the swap back in, when I turned the key over for the first time no fuel pump. After checking all the fuses still nothing so I called my buddy and learned of a kill switch for the pump. I rewired it and now the pump works the way its suppose to. The problem I’m having is there’s a CEL that I can’t figure out, when I flash it via the jumper plug NOTHING the light just goes off. Now my buddy put a stock motor in the hatch between me buying the motor and the car and he had used the engine harness and had no CEL’s. When he had the b20 in the car it had one and he thought it was due to the jumper harness. I had bought the jumper harness and the engine harness from him for this swap. And after one night comparing his new jumper harness to the one I had bought from him, we soon realized there were several wires missing. So I bought a new jumper harness and plugged it in hoping that the CEL was gone but nope it was still there. I tried one more jumper harness and still same result so to make sure it wasn’t the ecu I put it in my 97 hatch and there was no CEL and vice versa I put the ecu from my 97 in the 99 and boom there was the CEL AGAIN.
Like I said he had no CEL with the engine harness I’m using on a stock swap and stock ecu. So the only things that I’ve changed variable wise to his stock swap is the jumper harness which is new now and I had to install a resistor box for my injectors which I had in the delsol with no problems. Is it possible I have something hooked up incorrectly or what???
PLEASE HELP!!! IM LOST AND AM TIRED OF NOT HAVING A CAR TO DRIVE.

The motor sounds normal idels fine rev's fine. It had the CEL when he had the motor in the car and now when i have it. He drove it with the CEL and said everything worked fine. Vtec and all worked great he said. I just dont like driving my cars with them on for the fact if somthing else goes wrong youll never know. Just kind of strang that the engine harness on a stock motor and stock ecu had no CEL in the car. And the b20v and ecu im using had no CEL in the delsol but now that its back in the 99 hatch its got one. STRANGE

Im using the same 99-00 engine harness he used. He had the b20v i currently have in the car in it at one point in time and it had a CEL. I bought the b20v out of the car, he then installed a stock d16 with a stock ect without a jumper harness and he had no check engine light.

I then bought the shell from him along with the jumper harness he used and the engine harness that was on both the single cam and b20v setup.

The CEL was back on when I installed the motor back into the hatch due to me using the same engine harness/ ecu/ and jumper harness he used on it when he had the b20 in the car in the first place.

Found out the jumper harness I got from him was missing like 4-5 wires and hacked up due to the jumper being slice for a VAFC so i got a brand new jumper harness with the same result (CEL)

So if I read right you used the same ecu with the s300 in another car and it did not throw a CEL correct?

But thanks for clarifying I understand it more.

s200 but yes thats correct. And im sure its not the ecu and its somewhere in the car for the fact.

I put the ecu off the b20v with s200 in to my 97hatch and there was no code by the ecu in that car. I put the ecu from my 97 into the 99 and the code was still there. So its gotta be somewhere in the car.

Now from the stock form he had it with no CEL the things that are different in the equation are...
-the b20 swap
-resistor box
-jumper harness

Is it possible the resistor box is installed incorrectly or maybe a bad map sensor or somthing along thoes lines?

Remember the car starts and runs fine but when i go to jump the plug for the code the CEL just goes off and doesnt flash anything.

It just seems like a loose wire somewhere.
