The cracks certainly aren't supposed to be there, so why not replace the cap? Also, check the rotor. Make sure the set screw isn't loose and allowing it to move around.

 

bought a brand new rotor cuz the screw was stripped on the old one and couldnt get the old one off, so a car might not start because of cracks on the cap?

 

Well the rotar spins in circles, making a spark with all four pieces of metal in the cap. If its cracked, than it will [freak] everything up.

A new cap is like 10 dollars. If you replace the dizzy and used the old cap and wires, and the cap is cracked, and it still dont start, commen sense would tell you it has to be the cap, since you used your moms dizzy and the car worked fine(assuming you used the same wires).

 

tried both dizzies in both cars, both worked in my moms, neither worked in the gfs so now i know it is not a dizzy thing at all(wierd that my moms worked b4 to start the bad car) do you think it coluldve jumped a tooth on the cam gear? spark plugs suddenly went bad? im totally lost ready to take it to honda and pay an arm and leg as much as it sucks, she has been carless for over a week now, i need to fix it and be a hero, lol. thanks again for the input
