Default please help asap

I am not to familiar with transmissions and i discovered this "issue" tonight when i jacked my car up look look for an oil leak which i think ended up being from my oil pan gasket. anyway i looked over at the trans and saw that there looked to be a missing cover on the drivers side. looks like if it were ther would almost overlap or butt up next to the oilpan. the ironic thing is. I thought my throw out bearing was bad could it be my trans not having that cover?

If you're referring to the flywheel cover that covers the gap between the block and tranny, it shouldn't have any effect on leaking fluids. A bad throwout bearing wouldn't cause any fluid leaks either, so your oilpan gasket assessment is probably right. I would try and source the flywheel cover anyway, just to prevet foreign objects from getting in there.
