Default please help!!!!!

I have a ls/vtec: 91 ls block, 95 gsr head, gsr intake manifold, etc..... Is there any way I can get the secondary butterflies to open without having a gsr ecu??? And right now all I have to engage vtec is a msd rpm switch, I have it set at 4800. Is that too high??? Or should I just set it just like stock (4400). please help me.

4800rpm is not to low if you had it at 4400 that is way to low that is why your secondary butterflies do not open. my friend has a 95 gsr in a 97 civic he says that 4800 is to low also to low 5200 to 5500 is a good rpm to be at. But i will have ask my friend if he has a gsr ecu. I will gat back to you.
