Please Diagnose my Problem
Well here goes the different events that occur on my car. I'm really having trouble.
-Turn on car in morning
-Drive off and feel slight bogging and tach needle jumps like crazy
- Car boggs violently, tach needle jumps like crazy
-Car shuts down, engine check light goes on.
-I turn key to off, turn key again, process repeats.
I was thinking an alternator, but i have an alarm on my car not working, and my horn not working. I saw the alarm install. It looked a mess. Wiring was twisted and i saw see some cut wires under my dash. For some wierd reason tis happens much severly and more when temperature is colder, and in the morning, than in the afternoon. Also once the car warms up, this problem does not arise anymore. Please help me out, thanks.

how long has this been going on? Has it gradually gotten worse, or just start acting like this? Could be a few different things. Someone already mentioned your distributor and plug wires. Might wanta check the plugs too. The fact that it is worse when cold or first starting coupled with the jumping tach gives me the hunch that it could be a fuel system problem. Pump maybe, filter. How are your other fluid levels (tranny, oil)?
it's gotten worse.ALL OF THE SUDDEN after i bought it.
Did i mention, the engine light goes out after i turn the car back on???
And i doubt i is a fuel system problem. Seems more like electrical to me.

Sounds like you may have a problem in the primary ignition system since you said your tach is going nuts. You'll need a 4 trace lab scope to check out the distributor and coil inputs/outputs to verify there is a problem with primary or secondary ignition. email any qestions to jfastman@yahoo.com
