I pulled the head on my B16A, the piston domes are all covered with carbon deposits. Is there a way to clean the deposits off without leaving debris everywhere? Do they hurt anything? I haven't touched them yet...

 

i sprayed carb cleaner on a rag, not on the piston top, and i wiped it as clean as i can.
