Default piston timing concern

a few weeks ago my timing belt skipped a couple of teeth and three valves were bent in the process. i took the head off and rotated the crank to see if anything was wrong with the pistons. i noticed that piston 1 and 3 went up at the same time, and so did 2 and 4. is this how its supposed to be? i thought they all went up at different times.

whoah freaky!!!!

1 & 4 go togetehr and 2 & 3 go togetehr,

it is a 4 stroke engine, intake/compression/combustion/exhaust...

intake and combustion both need the piston going down and

compression and exhaust need teh piston going up

i hope this clears up your dilema

(i also thought all hondas were pair 1 & 4 and 2 & 3????)

t..

Bending a few valves will not change the order in which your pistons go up and down. If it ran that way before, it will run again.

sorry about that. i think it was 1 and 4, 2 and 3. i was just concerned because im still not sure why my timing belt skipped the way it did, and i thought it might have something to do with my pistons/crank.

Look more toward a tired, out of adjustment timing belt or a poorly designed cam gears.
