is there like something special your supposed to do to get the endcap off the rod to pull it off the crank?
i dont want to try and use a screw driver to pry them apart, but all the shaking and pulling ive been able to do so far hasnt done anything.

I thought you can use a soft hammer and just give it a couple love taps. Then try to wiggle it. Obviously you don't want to use a metal hammer for it.
