piston help....
okaye.. i have JE shelf B20/B16a head pistons.. i have very high lift cams.. and +.5mm.. now that my motor is assembled .. my homeboy that works at the shop is telling me i may get valve-piston slap.. all im looking for is some reassurement here.. b4 i tell him to go ahead and pull it all apart again to shave a little out of the valve reliefs on the pistons...clay-checking is out of the question as i am in the middle of the arabian gulf for operation enduring stupid... haha.. so let me know techies
Very high lift cams? 11mm? 12mm? 13mm?
+.5mm?
head milled?
Block milled?
stock valves/oversized valves?
My suggestion, Clay it. (If it is out of the question, go ahead and shave the reliefs) And go to a different shop that doesnt puts your motor together and than tells you that you might have piston to valve problems after it is together.

(navy buddy) BLEH! ughh.. anyways.. the cams are CROWER full race 403X(i think thats the number) but they have a longer duration for the longer stroke.. i have +.5mm valves like i said.. ok.. maybe that will help.. im juss going to have them do it i think and if i lose a little static compression oh well.. its only a bit.. and when i upgrade to endyn roller-waves i will find out i guess hunh?? ...1

Definately clay the motor, you're not going to want to just start it, if there isn't enough valve relief so take the safe route and set the cam timing negative slowly moving it up. Also be sure to lock ur VTEC rocker so you get the maximum lift that your motor can create. Good luck. Don't blow the shiet up!
cool.. ok thats what i needed some cold-hard procedures.. i've since pulled my motor from the shop and altough its all togethere.. i will pull it apart again before i get home.. WISH i could get ahold on the new honda tuning or order er sumthing.. someone wanna send it to me??!! hahah
