so #4 is that low, at TDC?

Pop off the oil pan to find out....

Throw a dial indicator on there to confirm TDC....then start making presumptions.

i dont need a goddamn meter to tell me when im top dead center thats the point its at just before the piston starts going down it does not go up any more.

and i actually have it backwards
cyl 4 = cyl 1

Then you probably don't need goddamn us to tell you what's the goddamn matter with your goddamn motor.

Like it's been mentioned before. Take that **** apart and find out what's wrong. Don't guess.

I always trust stuff like this.

ggggrrrrrr.....

That wa me posting on my boy's s/n cuz his dumbass forgot to lot out.

O.K. Now that you've got the oilpan and windage tray out of the way, grab the rodcap on the cylinder in question and see if it has any play on the crankshaft. If so, then you've got a spun rod bearing. If not, your gonna have to go deeper into the motor to find out. Let me know what happens.

there is no play. the only play is from side to side and that is VERY SMALL amounts of play.. i believe its normal and its the same case on all cylinders

Alright... stop right there.

Are you comfortable rebuilding engines?

If so dig deeper and find out what's wrong. I'm thinking bent rod but who knows.

If your not comfortable with the internals of the motor then take it to someone who is. Good luck.

Pop that rod and piston out of there and give us a pic.

I do this a lot sometimes....I forget the easiest way to ask a question.

Really I should ask if you took the #1 and #4 picture at the same time, or did you take #1 first, rotate to #2/#3, and then rotate again to take #4?

If you took pictures of #1 and #4 at the same time, then you can rule out not being at TDC as the cause of the taller piston-to-deck height.

Yea, boost would probably put it through the side of the block real fast.

seems like more trouble than its worth for a stock SOHC block. you can pick one of those up for nothing or next to nothing.
