Ok guys its back again.

Just a little history: Was getting a lot of pinging about a month ago. Timing was last checked back in Nov. of last year and it was spot on 16 degrees. Changed the fuel filter about 3 weeks ago and the ping went away. Las week it started coming back on, so I did an injector cleaning, no difference.

Any ideas now? Worn plugs? bag ign? what else could be the problem.

 

What engine?? what ecu?? what mods??

 

see signature. also a chipped ecu out of japan. Came with the motor so don't know what program it has on it. No speed cut, no rev limit. Have the car about 2 year with no ping issues. This started about 3 months.

 

Pull out the plugs and see if it is runnin lean. if so clean injectors, etc..
if not runnin lean, check your timing at idle and try another ecu if you have one around.. do you have a vafc by chance???

 

Did an injector cleaning last week, did not help. I don't have a vafc.

 

check cam timing. if it is at tdc, switch dist and/or ecu.
