What about if you leave it open? Run a tube down to the ground?

You should run it to a oil catch can. The catch can will collect any oil which passes throught the PCV (postive crank ventilation) system. Go to http://www.geocities.com/bretq/DIY_O...tructions.html for further information on hooking up an oil catch can.

I have seen V8's that run it to the exhuast. While it increases emmisions, it is said to increase performance. Any thoughts.

using exhaust pulses to pull out oil fumes.. decent idea.. sounds dirty tho.

so much for a nice shiney exhaust.

PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It's routes oil vapor from the crankcase into the intake where it is burned. It's just an emissions measure so raw oil vapor won't be circulated into the atmosphere.

You could just put a breather filter on the hose just after the valve so the crank can breathe.

Remember to remove the PCV filter before your emissions test... they will fail you outright!
