PCV QUESTION??? Need answer.
Ok, i swapped a gsr engine into my ek to replace my b16a. I did the swap like a month ago. And the engine had a red pcv assy on it. It looked kind of new so i just cleaned it out checked for the rattling noise and reinstalled it. So today (so far I put 680 miles on the engine) I wanted to see how the pcv valve was. And its dry, no oil residue and the rubber tube going from the pcv valve to the IM is clean also. Shouldn't it be alittle dirty with oil? I remeber I had a temperary clear tube on the pcv valve on my b16a and it turned brown and you could see some oil inside. Is everything ok, or could my rear crankcase breather be clogged???????
When the car is at idling at normal operating temperature pinch the hose from the pcv valve to the intake manifold with a plyers. If you hear the valve click, all is well.
There is a black baffle chamber on the side of the block to stop oil in raw form from being sucked upward and into the engine. A failed PCV system will push oil vapor, and even some raw oil into the intake tube, and through the manifold from the pipe that lead from the valve cover.
The breather has a 38mm or so feed hole, unless you got a gopher or something in there, forget about restrictions in the breather.

I forgot to mention the liquid/vapor separator. Your GSR PCV system is probably working better than the one on your B16, which is why you don't see oil in the tube. It is supposed to be filtered out in the liquid/vapor separator before going to the tube that leads to the manifold.
