Default PCV performance?

I have read people removing there positive crankcase ventilation valve. What are they doing, putting a breather insted, what performance can come from this - just a constant ventilation?

No, there is actually more ventilation when you leave it stock. But, have you ever looked into your throttle body? Most of the oil and grime is a result of oily vapors. I really dont know about any advantages/disadvantages besides that.

Don't remove the valve you need the positive crankcase ventilation.

I don't know about that. I run a catch can between the PCV and the intake manifold to catch the oil.

If you remove the PCV system you will notice that the car will blow smoke quite a bit.

If your PCV valve is bad then it will burn a little oil, but if you totally remove the system then it will smoke quite a bit.
