Default PCV Black Box - Broke :(

So attached to the block is a black box, which runs a line to the pcv and then connects to the manifold.

I ended up snapping the fitting ontop of the box that runs to the pcv, and the skunk2 manifold i installed does not have a nipple for the pcv regardess.

Should i just leave the black box attached to the block and let it vent to the air? Currently have a filter on the valve cover, so just curious what pros/cons of leaving the black box vent.

i am assuming there will be oil contamination from fuel seeping past rings and more blow by, maybe sludge, but its a N/A B series.

Just curious on oil change cycles and ring problems from not using the original pcv system, thanks

It is a crank case breather from the factory. It needs to cycle the system and is required for emissions. You can either remove it and get a fitting for the hole to block it off or use a catch can setup. I think either IPG parts or Go-Autoworks has these available for both D/B Series.

If your going to start a thread like this it also helps for Car, Model and engine type.

its just a b18 in a crx running obd1. dont need to worry about emissions.

mainly curious about pros/cons of venting the black box to the atmosphere

^ my last half *** ls build i did the same thing and never thought twice about it. blocked the manifold and let the black box vent to the atmosphere.

Currently fresh rebuild and seeing conflicting things about ring seepage and fuel contamination etc. also would rather not connect vc/box to the manifold and get **** dirty
