is there any downfall to not running an iac valve

The car will be difficult to idle. Will throw a code 14 if you are using a stock ecu. Not a good idea if it is a stock engine, stock ecu, or daily driver.

I don't know what motor you have but I have done this on several b series motors when

the idle surges on my b18c5 the idle was jumping checked everything and just put a

peice of a soda can in between the throtle body and manifold bloking the iac holes, it's

been like that for years and the only problem is it idles really low when cold but when

warm it drives normal.

Why do you want to bypass it? It'll be fine just low idle when cold.

it was just an idea i saw a friend do it on his and wanted to know the downfalls of doing it and your right it does idle low when its cold out.
