When I drive after the cars warmed up i get a surge between 2k-3krpm... but if i step on the throttle it goes away.. Or if I cruise on the freeway below 3100 it will do the same thing... The car drives and runs hella strong for a 4dr lsvtec witha dreaded LS tranny...

It's not a big problem, but I would like to know what causes it!!!

My '90 Si had similar symptoms, most notably while holding a steady throttle at 25mph in 3rd gear. In my case it was the O2 sensor. The output was low, slow, and lazy. I actually put a meter on it and watched it while driving. The surges coincided with the sensor changes. One thing I also noticed ... try to hold a steady rpm of about 2500 while in nuetral. In my case the rpm would vary by 50 to 70. One last note ... the cheaper generic Bosch sensors wouldn't work well/long for me. I had to go OEM. Been fine almost 2 years now.
