P75 throwing code 21 and 22 (vtec solenoid and vtec malfunction)
I am a technician at a honda in canada and i have a EG 4dr civic with a 94+ integra ls engine. The car runs good above 2000rpm but has a hesitation before(little bit of a miss fire) and i get a mil comeing on right away apon startup with code 21 and 22 which is vtec but the ecu is a virgin(not socketed), any info would be much appreciated TY.
thats what i would like to know. There is no signs i should say that this ecu has been modded, but there is no chip or chip harness, but still throwing codes 21 and 22, car is a EX model(cdn)
how am i checking the codes wrong, there is a 2 prong connector on the right side dash and i have a honda tool for it(jumper harness from honda), and the code is 21 and 22. so plz don't tell me i am doing this wrong cause i have been working on hondas for the past 7 years. i get 2 long blinks then 1 quick 1, then 2 long and then2 quick 1s, ur telling me thats not 21 and 22.

oh oh.. should i take my hat of to you?
A P75 Ecu can not physically throw codes for vtec, it does not have the hardware to do it. Unless of course it was converted or the rom looks for vtec hardware where there is none.
here is a little write up for a p75 to vtec; look to see if you see and hardware changes on your ecu;

no i don't want u to take ur hat off for me i just want ppl to relpy that can help me, i am very confussed that a non vtec setup throws a vtec code, and this is the 2nd ecu that was swapped in.
I think you're either looking up the wrong codes or counting wrong.
I'm also a tech, but instead of just honda, I do all European except Jaguar/Land Rover/Exotics, all japanese, all american, and all korean. Why don't you find a REAL technician to pull codes through the 3 pin connector that's next to the 2 pin. The 3 pin connector does more than just blinking the light. It will save you more time than waiting for the internet to respond to you.
