P28 run ITB's?
Within the next year or so I will be doing a h22 swap in a 97 civic hatchback. I'm doing the OBD2-OBD1 conversion and am planning or running a P28 either chipped or with a s300 installed. Here's where I get confused, does the P28 have the egr wiring the P13 doesn't have? Apparently the P13 won't work for the application I have. At some point in the future I would like to run ITB's (individual
throttle bodies), would the P13 with an S300 run this? Has anyone out there run this combination? Wideband O2 sensor possibly? This is the first time i've ever messed with honda engine swaps and i'm getting lost
in the confusion thanks!

p28 does not have egr.
your right, p13 wont run your itb's ( at least with crome) you will need a p28/p30/etc ecu.
yes you can use a wideband and integrate it wiyh your stock ecu for datalogging

When I put the throttle body setup on how will I configure it? The thing that really gets me is what about the map sensor? I dont think ITB setups have a map sensor do they? Can each cylinder be run independintly of the other meaning custom tailored to run at optimum? If I delete the EGR from the h22 will it run properly or will the idle lope up and down, can EGR be run with ITB's anyway? For the time being i'm gonna put a skunk2 manifold on and get rid of the secondary butterflys since the p28 wont run the IAB's, unless I run a P72 map. From what I can gather the secondarys don't help you THAT much anyway. You don't lose low end HP so much as TQ, and even then it's not much unless your really paying attention. Any suggestions?
So did some looking around. I'm thinking ITB's are a pain in the A@@. Moreso than there worth? And WTF is up with the no air filter bullshit? Isn't that hard on stuff? I don't know where you are but we got a lot of dust around here. Maybe a good manifold would be the way to go? any suggestions?

if that's your thinking itb's are not for you. air filters and airboxes are available for them. about the map sensor, you would have to drill and tap each runner, run a vacuum line from each into a vacuum log, then run the map off that. there are other ways of doing it but it's all the same concept.
if you're still serious about trying to use them head over the all motor forum. there's lots of threads in there on itb's.
