Default Overheating tranny?

On a hot day, after driving around for some time, when i come to a stop and try shifting gears, it is very very difficult to shift into gear, and reverse...blah reverse just grinds and grinds every time i ATTEMPT to put it into gear....if i do put into gear i have to suffer hearing the harsh crunching. Any ideas??

I'm not saying it's bad, It's just common knowledge that honda tranny's were designed to be used with honda MTF? I think it works the best. Why go out of your way to use something else?

It sounds to me like your clutch isn't disengaging completely when your car is hot. I don't know what would be making your car do this but have you checked your clutch pedal adjustment and your clutch master cyl fluid level (if hydro) or cable adjustment (if cable)? I had similar symptoms once and it turned out to be oil leaking onto the clutch disk. Normally you would think oil on disk = slippery, right? Well once it gets cooked on there by heat, it turns into something like tar and really *drags* on the clutch when you try to shift. I could FORCE it into gear, but it wasn't pretty.
