Overheating problems on D15B. Thermostat?!? Other!??! please help
allright..my car would overheat for some fucked up reason so i just took out my thermostat. now the temp guage is nice and low when i check it...the thing is at night its SUCKS..the **** is cold...my question is what kind of thermostat do i need for a D15B engine..i put a 92-95 civic thermostat in but it still overheats..maybe its not even my thermostat **** i dont even know but the thing is when i check my lower hose of my radiator its empty (no liquid inside it at all (when i have thermostat in)) but when i take my thermostat out it flows. IT could not be my thermostat so what do all of u think it is. basicly i would like to know what kind of thermostat i need for my engine..and if its not the thermostat thats messing up then what is?? thank you for your input.(when i drive the temp guage just sometimes jumps way up to the highest it goes and then just drops down in like a sec. dont know what it might be..maybe bad sensor even, i dont know but please help me out.)
it is possible that you have air somehow trapped inside your coolent system. Did you try from a cold start taking off your radiator cap to let out the air?
Also there is a large nut on the front of the block to relieve the coolent system of air.
is your radiator fan coming on at all?

Sometime even when the thermostat is functional but the fan switch bad, it still cause overheat. Your should try observe your engine see if the radiator fan is turn on. If it does then the fan switch is still good.
