Overheating problem on fresh turbo build
Well I have a issue and I can't figure it out. I am over heating after a short drive. I went through all the common issues to try and figure it out and still it overheats. I bled the air out through the bleeder valve. Thought it might be the T-stat so I just removed it. It has a brand new water pump and it is circulating. The tune and timing are good. The fan kicks on @ 180 degrees so that works. I'm kind of thinking that the water cooled turbo just won't work on a ZC with a half size radiator? My setup is a DOHC ZC (D16) with a water cooled GT2871R. I ran the coolant line from the bottom of the TB.
I had a problem like that on my first build.
What bleeder valve are you talking about?
1) Put the front of the car on jackstands with a cold engine, the radiator cap off, and coolant at the minimum bar on the reservoir.
2)Turn the car on and let it run for 10 minutes adding coolant until it is full and barely revving the engine by hand with the throttle valve. Once you see all the air come out and the neck of the radiator get full, put the cap back on and you are done bleeding it.
That's all there is to it.
