Overheated engine

whats the main problem with overheated engines. engine won't start b/c it overheated--just blown head gasket? help

If you engine is over heating then it could be an obstruction in the coolent hoses, a broken water pump, a broken thermostat, among other things. i can't really be much more help with this little info.
