Default overheated?

My car overheated, and I want to know if only the head would get warped? What's the chances the block would warp or crack a sleeve? I did'nt run it long, was driving around 70 then the temp gauge shot straight to H so I pulled over let it cool to around normal temp and tried filling some water(I know not to smart since it's still warm) but I needed to get off the freeway.
Tried searching but it's been down all day.
Please help
TIA

Well, it's possible to wrap the deck of block, distort the sleeves, but it's all as likely as wrapping the head depending how hot it actually got. Sounds like you didn't let it get to hot, saying you pulled over and all. I wouldn't worry, just figure out what made it overheat..

I was running an electric water pump and the motor on that failed. Mostly worried because the way the temp gauge literally shot up to H. I'm hoping not much damage but there is some oil under the vtec solenoid from the headgasket that was'nt there before.
