By Best Engine I Mean: Best Power For Your Money.
(im sure if we had unlimited supplies of cash, we'd all have turbo rwd hatches and whatnot.)

ok. so whats the overall best engine?

i think this will help answer my question of what to put in my del sol. im stuck between a few things; i have a small budget. $3500, maybe $4000...

so whats the best bet?
-N/A B18C5 with basic bolt-ons and a cam?
-Turbo LS?
-Turbo GSR?

12's, maybe 13's would be an ideal time...

 

defintely not a c5 not worth the money if your building a motor

 

B18C5 if you wanna spend a grip. I've always liked the easy power/performance of the B18C/GSR

 

turbo ls built would be fast, but the c5 would also be real sweet, i am a turbo head anyway.

 

turbo ls...save your money on that c5. And as for the gsr motor, VTEC isnt that cool anyway Good luck with your setup, post pics of this badass sol when you're done.

Lurbo ls I would say only cause ls motors is cheap and easy to come by. Or go with a h22 for all motor

 

ls/vtec would be what I would do.

 

For an unlimited budget I'd say get a K24. But for your budget, or maybe just a little more, I don't see it as unreasonable to properly build a boosted LS/VTEC.
