Default ouch....(not 56K friendly)

well i recently aquired a b18a1 from my friend for 200...now i know why. take a look at these pics. the conecting rod broke and yeh it did a little bit of damage....
now my questions are.
*is my block ruined?
*Will the car run with that damage to the cylinder wall (will the piston come down that far?)

I'd get the block checked out by a good machine shop to see if they can clean it up. If I am looking at it right they "may" be able to sleeve it. I don't know the pro's and cons of that though.

As for the crank, I would get it checked. Something big had to happen so I wonder if its bent. Depending on what it would take to fix everything it may be better to use any good parts from your engine and buy another engine, possibly with a bad head but good block/crank/pistons/rods.

get the block sleeved, and throw the crank in the trash. whenever something like that happens get a new crank.

id take that crank which i might add is junk, and shove it up your friends ***. That motor is garbage unless u get it sleeved and ur doing that u might as well get all the cyl sleeved and might as well get new pistons and new rods, something cheap. SRP pistons, and eagle rods, some cheap dartons. this is going to cost you. while ur at it just buy some crazy turbo kit. and fuel management, vtec head.... i smell 10 sec ls/vtec motor
