I've decided to build a back-up motor soon to replace the b16 in my 2000 si....this is my first b18c/b16 build so your input and criticsm is appreciated...

I recently purchased a gsr block that had recently been built back to oem specs and decided to add my b16 head to that block...

currently the head consists of ctr cams, stock valve train, skunk2 IM and throttle body...Ive come across a really good deal on some Skunk 2 stage 2 cams and am thinking of doing the following...

Utilizing the stock gsr block, adding my b16 head with the following:
Skunk 2 stage 2 Tuner series cams with skunk 2 cam gears
Skunk 2 Valves, springs, and retainers
Skunk 2 Intake Manifold and throttle body

would this be a good set-up? is it worth the investment to build a skunk 2 head since ive gotten a good deal on the cams? Do you suggest any thing else be done to the head any port/polish etc?

Does this sound like a good build? what would my compression be like? Nitrous possible?

another question about this, is if I decide to go with the stage 2 cams, will this build still be reliable as a daily driver and be able to make long road trips with no ease???

 

go to the all motor section... you might actually get some help there...
