Default Open diff?

Hey yall, I have a JDM B16 cable tranny.(from my best guess it was made in 90/91) I look were the axles go and there is a little pin through the center. Is that an open diff? And if it is what does an open diff mean? Is it the same as a LSD? If I put this thing on my hatch, when I do a burn out am I going to peg leg it? TIA

p.s. Does anyone have a pic of an open diff? Just so I can be sure that is what I am looking at.

#10, or actually everything within #7 is the differential. When it's assembled, the gears #8 are lined up for the axles. You look thru the middle of those gears & you see the spider-gear shaft #11 going across the opening.
