I'm confused, it's getting fuel and spark, right? Make sure the timing is really right and everything is plugged in. Any check engine lights to help?

3 things. Make SURE you have all 3.

Spark.
Pull a plug and put it close to a ground somewhere. make the spark jump the gap. Do it for ALL 4 CYLINDERS.

Fuel.
Listen for the pump priming, after turning it over a few times, smell your plugs, im sure u know what fuel smells like.

Timing.
Make sure this **** is dead on. Get a timing light, you can see where you ignition timing is even when its cranking. Make sure all your marks line up.

With those 3 things, the car WILL start.

Not unless its COMPLETELY blocking all fuel flow, but thats highly unlikely and very easy to eyeball/.

pull plugs, use feeler gauge between electrode and _____, (metal arcing thing)i hate forgetting terms. I don't know the correct gap on d series. slide through"gap" make it move accordingly to achieve correct gap.

If the battery wasnt supplying power, you wouldnt have the engine turning over. Use brain.

thats code 16, not 6. refer to the end of the last post.

Code 16 is a fuel injector code. My guess would be youre not getting fuel.

And remember, the check engine light only reflects things the ECU can detect. It CANNOT detect that your intake manifold gasket was installed improperly. It WILL NOT set a check engine light for that. Stop worrying about it. If it's really put on wrong, you won't have any manifold vacuum.

I add another, Induction. Without any way to get in or out, the air won't be doing a lot of good. My catalytic convertor melted and the car would barely run, but spark, fuel and timing were great. Just a bit of info.

the code 16 has nothign to do witht eh intake manifold gasket. it is either showing that the injectors are not plugged in or that they are broken and not working.

check your timing belt timing...make sure it is dead dead on...super important.
next, check if your distributor is 180 degrees out...its possible to install 180 degrees out...not easy but it will go....
and then check all the necessities. fuel, air, spark, spark timing.
