Default Old engine, which guages are a good idea?

I'm treating my 230k engine pretty badly by autocrossing it and I'm thinking I want to add a couple of guages to it to give me potential advance warning of impending doom.

I figure Oil Pressure is a must but if I can get away with it I'd prefer not to have to run an oil line into the cab. Are the electric guages that much more inaccurate or are they 'good enough' just as a basic engine diagnostic?

What else would be a good idea? Water temp maybe?

(Searching just netted me 101 threads about faulty boost and AF guages really. )
