Oil on spark plug threads, kinda diff. ? (searched)
I just replaced the head gasket and valve cover/spark plug gaskets yesterday. Now all 4 plugs have oil all over the threads.
Whats confusing me is that there is no oil on the top of the plug, none on the plug wires, and theres no oil around the spark plug grommets/gaskets, and none in the spark plug "cylinders". Also the compression test #'s are:
#1 228
#2 231
#3 236
#4 240
Is there anything else that could be causing this? Any input, comments, suggestions, or questions would be appreciated. Thanks

The oil is proberly coming from the gaskets you just installed. maybe one fell out of place or something. pull the valve cover and recheck.
yea ill prolly recheck everything. but just wondering, if the oil was coming from the spark plug tube seals, wouldnt there be oil in the plug cylinder or at least on the plug wires? thanks for the input.
If there is just a little visual around the threads its fine, Mine does it pretty muck everytime i pull the plugs and its just a little bit
Until it starts to puddle dont worry

oh ok. but do you know where it could be coming from? its wierd since ill clean them off, drive ten mins, pull them right away and then theyll be wet with oil again. maybe im just being paranoid but if anyone knows the answer that would be cool. if not then i guess i wont worry too much about it. thanks for the response
