Default Oil pump leaking

Hey guys I installed a brand new oem itr oil pump when I did my build and the seal was leaking right off the bat. So yesterday I took off the pump and the seal was messed up so I replaced it with a brand new seal and put it all back together and go to drive it and it leaks again! Any ideas on why the new seal is leaking?

There was a spring on the old one that was falling off so I took it off with the old one and when I put the new one on there was not a new one I didn't know if that spring was inside the seal or what

The cranks messed up then... Its been turned down too far and the seal no longer sits tightly against the crankshaft.

Pretty common on old hot-rod stuff that has 50+ year old crankshafts... dont see it too often on Hondas.

If you're using an aftermarket seal you need to add grease to both the shaft and the inner lip of the seal or it will continue to leak if installed dry. Most people use Honda OEM seals which come with grease already installed on the seal.

The grease allows the seal to breakin without tearing which could your problem.
