Default Oil Pressure H22

I am having a horrible time figuring out my oil pressure problem. Here is the problem. When the car is at idle or i should say when you take it out of gear or are not accecelerating the oil light comes on and the car tries to die. Yes there is oil in the car. It could be the oil pump (thats my last option i think)but a friend pointed out that it either works or does not work. When I first got the car running it ran good for a day before the timing belt whent because it slowly slipped off the cam gears. After replacing the timing belt the car worked good. I raced it about 4 times, and drove it about 50 miles. After one of the races my wife whent to get gas and on the way back the car was doing the shutting of thing. Next thing we know the balance shafts siezied causing the car to jump time because piecies of the balance shaft belt got into the timing belt. Now I dont know what to do about this. I am going out on a limb but I have a K&N Oil filter on the car, but that could not pose any problems? Any help is much appreciated because I am out of ideas.

Oil pressure is dictated by bearing clearences. Take of the oil pan and do a bearing leak test.
