Oil pressure guage- not working
Ok. I just got my hybrid, 95 B18C1 into 93 CX, up and running, and hooked up a guage set.
I'm running oil temp, oil press, and water temp. I don't have the water temp hooked up yet, as I ran into a problem with my oil pressure.
I hooked the oil pressure into the sending unit on the back of the block, on the driver's side of the oil filter. I ran the wire straight from the back of the sending unit to my oil pressure guage, an Autometer Sportcomp.
As soon as the ignition is turned on, the pressure spikes to the high side, and doesn't come back down, even with the car running, or just the ignition on. Just stays pegged at maximum.
My other guage that is hooked up, the oil temp, sweeps and then goes back down to 0 when it gets power, and it works great. So, I know that I have the guages wired right as far as power and ground.
How do I fix the oil pressure guage to work? Is there a PIN on the ECU to tap into that will work?
I was going to hook my water temp guage to the collant sensor, but after having problems with the oil press, I am waiting...
Please help!
Thanks!

Re: Oil pressure guage- not working (Revolveu2)
Are you saying you tapped into the stock sending unit for the Oil Pressure gauge? If thats the case, that isn't what you are supposed to do, if it an electrical gauge you need to use the sending unit that came with the gauges and Tee off of the sending unit mechanically. You don't want to hang the unit straight off the tee either, since its pretty heavy and will break the threads over time. Go here for more info. http://www.theoldone.com/articles/oilpressure/
