Default oil light will not turn off

My friend is tryin to find out why he oil light turned on. He has 120K miles on his D16z6 motor. The car runs fine with the light on. he had first changed out the oil pump. the oil light used to jus turn on for a few seconds and then turn off, then after a few weeks the light just stayed on. The oil level was always fine. he had decided to do an oil change to see if it would help and metal flakes came out.

Has this happened to anyone before?
he has the motor out of his car now, and he a DX motor, but the dx motor seized up on him and he wants to use the old D16z6 motor now

there are 2 options

1) bad oil pressure sending unit or wiring.

2) real, true, low oil pressure.

if you saw metal flakes in the oil, its probably not a sending unit or wiring problem. i would get ahold of an oil pressure testing kit and see for sure tho. no point replacing parts without knowing the root of the problem.

lol, he's just killing one motor after another. If he's got low oil pressure and metal **** is coming out, it might be a bad bearing, or several. I would look at the oil pump too.

spun ones can.

or it could be another problem that spun the bearings. eithre way sounds like the engine is toast.
