oil level?

Default oil level?

if my car hasn't been turned on for 2 days, and it won't start (i have fuel pressure and i have spark...)... umm... i just checked my oil and it was dry.. completely dry... there was nothing on the stick... does the engine hafta be started/warm for there to be any oil on the stick???

btw its a 94 gsr

The dipstick tell you the level of oil in the bottem of the oil pan.

so what happen in the two days?

no the engine doesnt have to be started or warm for there to be oil on the stick. your suppose to be able to tell what your oil level is at when the engine is off and cold. there's only 2 reasons i can think of for you not having oil on the stick. 1 is because you might have a bad oil leak.. and 2 you just haven't checked your oil for a while and engine slowly burnt oil or leaked oil out. as for it not starting... it could be because you don't have enough power from your battery? maybe you left something in your car on over those 2 days. try having someone jump start the car... or better yet try compression starting it. also make sure you add oil in the car before you try starting it up.
