Default Oil leak in b18C1 engine. Potential causes?

i know this sounds like a noob question but my dipstick is broken. I think it should still work really the handle is just gone but he stopped is there so I just use pliers. But anyway I put about 4 quarts in and it seemed level, drove a little really not much and I checked today and I was at the bottom dot. I know there is a leak I believe at my oil pan and it is pretty bad but I put about another quart in and it reads between the two dots. How much should the engine take and is there any way he dipstick could just not be reading right? I noticed VTEC didnt engage as hard as it has before either. It’s b18C1 bottom with type R head bored out to 2.0. Stock oil pan

fix the leaks and get a new dipstick. VTEC engages when optimal oil pressure is reached at the set RPM (via ECU program). Since you're low on oil, it ain't happening bud.
