oil filter goop?
does anybody know wtf this is? here are some pics and i will give u some background info..

this is not the first time i found some goop on my filter. i always change my oil and oil filter at the same time (~5000miles). i use mobil1 synthetic. when i wipe of the good, the filter looks normal. there is no abnormalities. the car seems to be running normal as well. i also used different brands of filters (bosch, honda, honda). does anybody have any idea what this is? and what is causing it?

Thats some nasty *** crap there kid. I don't know what it is but I don't think it's coming from your oil filter. How long has this been going on? And you really should change your oil or least filter more often then 5000 miles.
i didn't get anything replaced.
everytime when i changed my oil filter, i notice that whitish goop. there wasn't any noticeable boot damage but i will inspect it further tomorrow.

Jesus, enough pictures? We get the idea already.....
The inner boots rarely tear. You probably just need to reseal the boot. Just get a new band for it and clean all that crap off of there. Although, if you use the OEM band you will need a special tool to intall it.
People with K series cars are going to see this A LOT. Damn Honda put the oil filter directly over the inner boot, so that when you change the oil, it really makes a mess. You really have to be diligent cleaning all the old oil off the boot so that it does not get contaminated and swell.

okay i checked the boot and there is no sign of wear/tear. the goop isn't even on the boot at all. it seems to be coming from the filter area. i cleaned it up and will check back at the next oil change. maybe it's just the filter? i'll try a different brand next time.
Your boot is torn, you might not be able to see the rip unless you stretch the boot. The hole could be the size of a pin hole, but when your axles rotate 4,000 rpm anything will come out of the hole. Your gonna have to either get a new axle, or take the old boot off and repack the axle with grease, or else your axle is gonna fail soon.
Depends, fine someone that will do it out of there garage around your area. I do repairs out of my garage and I give great deals to people. I would get a new axle, because even if you repack the old one, who knows how much is left in there and how over heated it got.
