Default oil change question....

i have a 93 cx with a lsvtec swap....i always put castrol 10w40(non synthetic) oil and oem honda oil filters.....i wanna try sumthing different.....i got mobil 1oil 10w30 fully synthetic and a k&n oil filter for an s2000....will it perform better? should i put synthetic in my motor? putting 10w30 synthetic and s2000 oil filter be a good idea?any info will help me alot thanks.....

well you can switch over to synthetic, some people dont recommend it after the car has so many miles on it. however i personally like synthetic best...as far as the filter im sure a stock filter does just as good, i run stp filters personally, just bc the filter is bigger doesnt mean its better....and i think that k&n charges way too much for them

my motor has about 5000 miles....i got the oil and filter for free.....4 bottles of mobil1 10w30 syntheitc and k&n oil filter from an s2000.....i used 2 use 10w30 non synthetic...will it make a difference?

you shouldnt mix synthetic and non synthetic oils if thats what you mean

Use the synthetic. Synthetic is always better. It won't make much of a difference other than you can go longer before you have to change it again.

As for the filter, there's really no "this filter is best" way of looking at it. Some filters filter better but flow less oil, others flow more oil but filter less.

Either way, K&N filters are made by Champion Labs which is known for making quality filters. So go ahead and use it. It's not a "lesser" quality than a Honda filter.
