OK my motor's been burning and loosing oil here n there (ill explain the loosing part in a sec) but I notice that it only smokes under certain conditions.
Example... I notice that if i'm decelerating off an off ramp like off the throttle for a little bit, once i get back on it (doesn't have to be WOT) it just billows a lot of bluish white smoke for a little. then it clears up. i drive a lot in sloooooow traffic and I notice the same thing if i've been cruising @ low throttle for a little then i get on it. it doesn't really smoke at idle or anything but I have noticed it puff a light cloud of blue smoke once on start up, haven't noticed it much since.
Now, the headgasket is leaking because during the last headswap I listened to a friend of mine and used only one dowel pin (the other got bent up when i was trying to remove it from the other head). so i know the gasket is leaking as oil is visibly leaking between head and block. I was wondering if this could contribute to the oil burning as well as I really didn't notice the oil burning/oil loss till about 2 weeks or so after the headswap.
From what i know it seems like valve seals/guides but it could be just me hoping that it isn't rings/bottom end related. Friend of mine is saying it's the rings but I'm not sure, I don't want to tear down the motor if I dont have to. Anyone have any insight?
