OHV?

SOHC= Single Overhead Cam
DOHC= Dual Overhead Cam
OHV= What's it mean?

americans are more into power than gas saving engines that will tow a small trailer.

Hey, my '81 Corolla had a 1.8L OHV engine. 8 valves and 8 pushrods in all their glory!

Technically, almost all modern cars are OHV. Be they SOHC, DOHC, pushrod V8's, whatever. The valves are all on the top of the cylinder head. Anyone here old enough to be able to name some applications of side valve engines?
