I'm planning on wiring a simple circuit that controls a series of small LED's. These will follow my rpm's up until redline. This way I can be aware of my engine speed without taking my eyes off the next turn.

What I need to know is what kind of signal does the tach get from the engine. I.E. standard 4-20 mW or something else?
