Default odd problem (lookin for a bit of help)

well this has been an ongoing problem for a while now, about a month ago i swapped my tranny out, car ran great for about 2 days then died on me. The car wouldn't start it would turn over and try to start sounding like it would fire up for a second then die. At first I wasn't getting any spark so i did the basics replaced plugs plug wires dizzy cap rotor button and coil pack still wasn't getting any spark, upon doing these things i found a cracked wire that ran from the icm back to the ecu so i replaced that wire put everything back together and i finally started getting good spark nice blue arch about every half second to a second so i figured that had to be the problem put everything back together, but nothing car still wont start so i checked the timing made sure the belt didn't slip or anything brought piston one up to tdc and the rotor button was in fact pointing to cylinder one on the dizzy cap so i figure maybe just ignition timing, so i jumped the obd1 plug and moved the cap back in fourth just a little bit still nothing, so i just put the dizzy back to its original spot, next i moved on to fuel checked the fuel pressure at the filter it read 40 psi all day so my guess would be thats also well, i even did a compression test 1 read 200 2 read 195 3 read 195 and 4 read 200 so that's all good and well, im somewhat lost at this point and not real sure what else to check or do any help would be extremely appreciated because this is my daily driver and ive been out of a car for a while,

thanks in advance
josh

btw: i forgot to mention the car will actually run if starter fluid is sprayed into the throttle body, but it sounds like it's only running on 2 or 3 cylinders.

try pulling out ur spark plugs . to se if your running lean on those two cylinders . bad injectors maybe ?.u got compression, you got spark , your half way diagnosing . all you need to check now if your fuel system

o ya i forgot to mention i replaced the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator like i said im gettin 40 psi in the fuel system i actually even ended up pulling the fuel rail out of the intake mani and cranked the car over all the injectors were in fact squirting ican say though the injectors in cylinder 1 and 4 look a lot darker and covered with fuel than the injectors in 2 and 3, but why would the injectors have been squiritng when i pulled the fuel rail out if they were bad?

check resistance between injectors to specs . i recenly movd and dont have my book with me to give u specs . but let me look for it tonight and post what resistance u should have .. if you have a noticeable difference u can then bad injectors might be ur problem . but to be sure u have to check there resistance .
