odb1 scanners
who make the best oddb1 scan tools, that will work on 92-95 odb1 honda preludes. i want a good tool but i dont want to spend 1000s on it, im thinking more in the 100s range.
There is nothing in the $100's range I've ever heard with that capability. Most people believe nothing will work for obd1 Hondas, but that isn't true. My Snap-on Modis will do it, but I payed $4100 for it USED. For most people, jumping the service connector and counting CEL flashes is the only way to do it.
Do you know if there is any way to measure short and long term fuel trims? Will your snap on monitor this? Also does your snap on actually connect direct to a connector somewhere or did u have to hack into the wiring harness? Thanks for the help
There is an adaptor with the modis called "hon-1" that plugs right in. No hacking required, it plugs into the 3 wire connector that's next to the 2 wire service connector on the passenger side. It shows live data from the sensors, but I don't remember off the top of my head if it shows short/long term fuel trims. I haven't used it much for obd1, but I was able to quickly spot a bad o2 sensor (no CEL) on my 94 Accord after I failed emissions.
I'll plug it in later and get you an answer about the fuel trims.
