Default Octane switch from 89 to 91

Ive been running 89 octane in my 98 prelude for about 6 months and now and I just recently switched to premium 91 octane. I noticed a big loss in acceleration my 0-60 fell a whole second. Is it possible that since ive been using 89 for so long my ignition timing decreased? What is the problem? I thought 91 gives better performance for my car..
