Default Is 91 really required?

Is 91 octane really required for a stock gsr? People keep telling me that 91 is a must have for a GSR, is that true? I don't plan on modding the car at all in the future. I just want to get the most gas I can for my money. Thanks

After reading this thread, it seems that the B18C1 was designed to operate safely on 91 octane gas, not 87 or 89. So, I'd say yes, it is important to use 91 octane gas.
